Green Salad with French Dressing

Descripton

A common starter or side dish in Modern European and French meals.

Ingredients

Salad:

1 lettuce
Young spinach Celery
Green Pepper
Cucumber
Bean Sprouts
Optional:

Mint

Parsley
Chives or basil Watercress

French Dressing:

¾ cup olive oil
¼ cup white wine, cider vinegar or lemon juice
¼ teaspoon dry mustard
Black pepper
1 clove of garlic
1 tablespoon chopped parsley, chives or fresh basil

Instructions

1. French Dressing: Crush the garlic. Place all the ingredients into a mixing jar that has a lid and shake well. Alternatively, mix by placing all ingredients in a small bowl and stirring well.

2. Finely slice the celery, green pepper and cucumber.

3. Wash the lettuce leafs and shake to dry. Cut or tear into pieces. Place in a salad bowl and add the other vegetables and French Dressing.

Toss to mix.
